Father's Day, June 21, 2009

I have a lot of catching up to do!  While we were in the Gulf coast of Florida, we celebrated Father's Day and the kids gave Adam cards and they had tie dyed a shirt for him.  Tie dye is a big part of our lives, we use professional dyes from Dharmatrading.com and we've been tie dying for several years now.  I started out doing shirts for our annual Disney World trips but then we got so addicted to it we started tie dying everything!  So this year the kids gave Adam a tshirt, loving tie dyed by them, and I think it came out awesome!

Later on that evening we took Daddy on a 2 hour dolphin sightseeing cruise.  The boat was very nice and we got to see some dolphins!  I researched when the best time of day was to see dolphins and I found out that dolphins come out during the day a lot but sunset is a really great time, so we set up to go at 6:00pm.  They take your tickets and then you board the boat and they take your photo for a souvenir and its available for purchase at the end for $10.00.

So we boarded the boat, had some snacks and set sail from the Destin harbor area out toward to gulf.

{harbor area}

Where the harbor meets the Gulf are two jetties one on either side of the harbor and this transition actually collects a ton of fish and hence dolphins so that is where we headed.

  Unbeknownst to us however, this area had very rough water and the boat swayed form side to side, making me very nauseous. Ayla and I got really bad nausea.  Adam felt a little icky but avery seemed fine. About 20 minutes after spotting Flipper and his family I was ready to get off the boat, but we had an entire 45 minutes left, ughh, it was not fun.  Just thinking about it makes my stomach queasy.  I did not realize that we'd get seasick and we have decided not to go on a boat again for a very very long time. We did get some great pictures though!!
